[Case Study] Solving the Challenges of Bridging Issues with Highly Adhesive Food Ingredients

AirSweep solves challenges in food factories with strict hygiene management! Measures against bridging of sticky materials and efficient discharge methods.

AirSweep is very effective for bridge prevention. It resolved the discharge troubles of high-viscosity raw materials that could not be solved by vibrators by separating them like an air knife. 【Challenge】 Bridging of highly adhesive food raw materials occurred, further inducing significant safety risks. In a cheese factory, whey protein concentrate (WPC), which has very high moisture and fat content, was bridging inside the hopper of a bag filter. This trouble not only delayed production but also led to a significant safety risk of the bag filter catching fire due to the solidified material. Many factories use vibrators to address bridging and adhesion issues with highly adhesive raw materials like whey protein. However, vibrations can cause air to escape, leading to compaction of the raw materials, which can actually worsen the bridging. Additionally, in factories producing dairy products like cheese, equipment that meets high hygiene standards certified by organizations such as the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) is required. ・ ・ ・ ▼Please download the materials to see the solution to this challenge.

0118 Measures for Hanging Iron Powder Shelves

Introducing a case study on powder bridge prevention for iron powder shelf suspension!

We would like to introduce a case study on powder bridging solutions for iron powder in shelf suspension. In the raw material hopper of the electromagnetic feeder, iron powder was bridging. It seems that due to the square hopper, some powder remained in the corners, but this was resolved by placing the blow disk closer to the corners. Additionally, our powder discharge device is available for free rental. 【Hopper Overview】 ■ Hopper Capacity: Approximately 50L ■ Powder Characteristics - Bulk Density: 2.2 - Particle Size: Several tens of μm - Moisture: Several percent 【Key Points of Our Equipment】 ■ The elastic disk (silicone) is very important in terms of strength and durability due to the risk of foreign material contamination. The silicone disk in our equipment is exceptionally strong and durable. Once you use it, you will understand! ■ Control (how to aerate?) is crucial! We provide guidance on what should be done. A dedicated controller is also available. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us. *Our website features numerous implementation examples, which you can check via the link below.

0321 Solving the bridge of square pellets

Introducing examples of bridge measures implemented for rectangular prism materials.

This is an inquiry regarding a case where 'the pellets are bridging solidly just above the discharge valve, and it is difficult to resolve this with hammering from outside the hopper.' We had previous experience dealing with similar-sized materials, so we were able to provide information on layout and operating methods based on that. However, the material this time has quite a bit of stickiness on the surface. There was some risk involved, but we were able to achieve good results. [Overview] ■ Hopper Size: 1000φ ■ Discharge Outlet Diameter: 150A ■ Target Material: Pellets approximately 3mm x 3mm x 5mm ■ Other: This time, the air pressure was set higher, and the air ON time was set shorter. ■ All materials and processing are produced domestically. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us. *Our website features numerous implementation examples. 0661 Applicable to elastomer grinding materials

This equipment is used in various ways for bridge measures against crushed materials of various resins!

We would like to introduce a case where a business engaged in resin injection molding adopted the "Brodisk." The issue was that in the elastomer raw material hopper, increasing the ratio of crushed material caused bridging, and even after installing an air injection nozzle and implementing static electricity countermeasures, there was no effect. After hearing the details, we provided examples of countermeasures regarding the model and placement of our equipment, and it was subsequently introduced. The results have been favorable. 【Case Overview】 ■ Hopper Diameter: Ø200 ■ Discharge Diameter: Ø40 ■ Cone Section Inclination: 45° ■ Target Material: Elastomer/Virgin Raw Material (approximately 3mm) + Crushed Material (up to approximately 10mm) ■ Equipment Placement: Three Brodisk Mini units installed around the circumference at the upper and lower center of the cone section ■ Equipment Control: Simultaneous air ON/OFF for the three Brodisk units via Controller C-SV1 *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
